Way back in December of 2013, I was contacted by Nutopia, a TV production company based in the UK and US, about potentially filming a Ouija® segment on a yet to be made series on inventions that would air on the Smithsonian Channel. Yup, I said the SMITHSONIAN CHANNEL! Guess how long it took for my planchette to point out yes? After lots of emails and telephone conversations Jonathan Davenport, Simon Deeley, and Robert Shacklady flew from the UK to meet me in Baltimore, Maryland the week of April 28, 2014 where we began filming. We spent two days there and another day in Chestertown. From there they went onto meet Chip Coffey in Woodstock, New York to film him conduct a Ouija séance.

Here’ s a bunch of behind the scenes pics I took while they were filming. It’s amazing how much time goes into setup and breakdown of each scene. These guys were amazing to work with and a blast to hang out with. How lucky am I? I got to see and film with my extended family, the Fulds, film at William Fuld’s Ouija Harford Factory, and film at the house Charles Kennard claimed to invent the board that would later become Ouija. BTW the Kennard House recently got new owners and so I met them as well, and now have some pretty goods friends in Chestertown.

I can’t thank the following enough: Nutopia, the Smithsonian Channel, Chip Coffey, the Fulds, Sonny Hersch, and the Anaya’s for helping tell America the Mystifying Oracle®’s origins and for working and putting up with me! Don’t miss the premier episode “Shock and Awe” of the Smithsonian Channel’s new series “My Million Dollar Invention” Sunday, June 14, 2014, 8PM EST
